Upon arrival from KMIA Airport, embark on a swift two-hour journey directly to the lodge, enjoying the scenic vistas along the way. Alternatively, fly into Skukuza Airport followed by a brief one-hour drive, exiting the National Park to reach the lodge.
Upon your arrival, you’ll receive a warm welcome along with a safety briefing. Your dedicated camp manager/host will personally escort you to your room, allowing you to settle in and marvel at the breathtaking views along the dry riverbed. Lunch will be served around 14:00, after which you’ll have time to relax on the grounds of Umkumbe.

Return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast, and prepare for your onward journey to Africa on Foot (there is still time for one last bush walk, which is optional). An easy self-drive route along the R40 will take you to Hoedspruit town where you can easily navigate to Africa on Foot using our directions.
Upon arrival, you’ll settle into camp life and enjoy a lunch in the main area. Late afternoon you’ll depart on a game drive, where you’ll be treated to sundowners at a scenic spot and a night drive back to camp. In the boma area, you’ll be greeted with a roaring campfire and drinks at the bar.
Dinner will be served in the dining area adjacent to the boma, where you can enjoy a delicious three-course meal before settling in for your first night.
