Boteti Tented Camp is a rustic, locally-owned retreat on the banks of the Boteti River, just 45 minutes from Maun. Owned by someone who grew up nearby, the camp supports the local community by sourcing produce locally and offering an authentic glimpse into traditional life.
The camp has five spacious Meru-style tents, each with en-suite bathrooms and simple, African-inspired décor. The main area features a lounge, dining space, a stylish bar, and a swimming pool with sun loungers.
Located near the lifeline of the Kalahari plains, the Boteti River attracts hippos, crocodiles, and birds. Guests enjoy daily included safari activities, with options like trips into Moremi Game Reserve or the Okavango Delta.

Location
Airport transfers from Maun airport are included in all bookings. Boteti is located a mere 20 minutes from Maun, and the drive to camp is the start of the safari experience. The short drive meanders through swampy sandy terrain before guests are welcomed with refreshments. Boteti’s location is perfectly positioned to take advantage of the splendour of the Okavango Delta, the famous Moremi Game Reserve, the Predator rich Khwai riverfront, and Savuti and Chobe game reserves.
Lodge & Rooms
Boteti Tented Camp features five spacious Meru-style canvas tents, each built on raised wooden platforms for privacy and views of the Boteti River. Each tent accommodates two guests and includes an en-suite bathroom with rustic wooden accents, a work desk, bedside table, and storage chest. The main lodge area offers a lounge, dining space, bar, and a swimming pool with a deck for relaxation.
Wildlife
Botswana is a wildlife haven, home to abundant elephants, hippos, predators, and diverse birdlife. The Boteti River near the camp hosts elephants, antelope, crocodiles, hippos, and many birds. In Moremi Game Reserve, guests can see lions, leopards, wild dogs, and red lechwe across lagoons, woodlands, and forests. The Okavango Delta’s rivers offer sightings of kingfishers, elephants, sitatunga, and hippos. Dry Makgadikgadi provides chances to see migrating zebra, wildebeest, and hyenas.

A typical day at Boteti Tented Camp
The timing of the daily schedule changes according to the season, and is flexible. Boteti Tented Camp works according to guests’ excursion requests, but the general itinerary follows the format below.
